WHYI Speaker Series

Quarterly events featuring ministers of health, WHO officials, and emerging health innovators. The WHYI Speaker Series brings the most influential voices in global health directly to the next generation.

Sessions are offered in both virtual and in-person formats, giving members flexible access wherever they are. All sessions are recorded and distributed as podcast and YouTube content.

WHYI Connect

WHYI Connect is a curated professional community organized around issue-based committees, each youth-led and meeting monthly. Members join the committee that matches their passion and build deep expertise alongside peers who share it.

Youth-Led Committees

WHYI Connect Committees

Each committee meets monthly, is led by an emerging professional, and focuses on a specific area of global health. Members may join one or more.

Health Equity Committee

Examining structural drivers of health disparities and advancing policy solutions across racial, economic, and geographic lines.

Women's Health Committee

Focusing on gender-responsive health systems, maternal health, reproductive rights, and women's leadership in global health.

Indigenous Health Committee

Centering Indigenous perspectives, sovereignty, and self-determination in health policy, with a particular focus on Canada's Indigenous communities.

Climate & Health Committee

Exploring the intersection of environmental change and public health, from air quality to heat stress to climate-displaced populations.

Mental Health Policy Committee

Advancing global mental health policy, reducing stigma, and developing youth-led advocacy strategies at local and international levels.

Global Health Diplomacy Committee

Building skills in health diplomacy, international negotiations, and multilateral engagement with WHO, UN, and global health institutions.

Pandemic Preparedness Committee

Analyzing lessons from COVID-19 and building frameworks for global health security, early warning systems, and equitable vaccine access.

Health Systems & Innovation Committee

Exploring digital health, health technology, and systems strengthening across low- and middle-income country contexts.

Pillar Three

WHYI Delegation Program

The most prestigious program WHYI offers. Competitively selected delegations attend major international health and diplomatic forums, representing the next generation on the world stage and producing substantive policy recommendations.

Delegates complete a 6 to 8 week pre-delegation training program in policy writing, diplomacy skills, and issue-specific deep dives before attending their assigned forum.
